Sonos makes a fantastic subwoofer, but for those of us with larger living areas, home theatres and cinema rooms, Sonos has now enabled a software update which allows two subs to be installed within the one system. This is a long-awaited update will delight cinephiles and entertainment enthusiasts.

To set up two Subs in the a single system you must have a Sonos Arc, Beam, or Playbar soundbar, a Playbase sound base, or a Sonos Amp. One of the Subs must be a Gen 3 model, which has increased processing power, and you’ll require the latest version of the Sonos S2 app.

The Sonos Sub is a unique low-frequency-effects speaker system that isn’t connected to an A/V receiver or paired with just any soundbar. It must be installed in conjunction with another Sonos speaker or a Sonos amplifier.

Enjoy clear, richly-detailed sound that fills the room at any volume. Setup takes minutes, and control is simple with the Sonos app, Apple AirPlay 2, and your voice. Customise your system and play what you want, where you want.

Create a more immersive experience for music, home cinema, and more. Get bold base, without the buzz that’s meant to be seen and heard. Sonos Sub takes over the lowest frequencies, enhancing the midrange playback from paired speakers so you experience fuller, more detailed sound.
