KEF is one of the foundation stones which defines Melbourne Hi Fi.

Our association with KEF spans 12 years as Melbourne Hi Fi and at least another 2 decades where we traded as Secher Audio back in Highfield Road, Camberwell.

It is so much more than just an association.

KEF is our most important brand and it is why Melbourne Hi FI was selected as the first Australian store to be bestowed the honour of becoming a KEF Elite Dealer.

At the time Melbourne Hi Fi was one of 2 Elite KEF Dealers globally with the other being in the USA.

What is it about KEF that makes it so admired? We think it is very simple.

KEF as their name suggests remains in spirit the “Kent Engineering and Foundry”.

Although the more affordable range is manufactured to the highest quality in China; the Reference and Blade continues to be made in Maidstone, UK.

When a new range of Loudspeakers is released; it is not the typical tokenism we note from many Manufacturers.

When KEF introduces a new generation of speakers; the reason is genuine and acoustically relevant. 

After all that is what Engineering for excellence is all about.

Never being satisfied with what you have and constantly seeking sonic improvement.

The latest innovation is the deployment of their “Metamaterial Absorption Technology” (MAT) popularly known to all of us as the “Metas”
